OpenSuSE 11.2 aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh

Usually, Opensuse is good. But on my dear A21m, with XFCE, it flunked badly. Infinite loop of first system config.

Debian 5 with LXDE works much better.

  1. Debian 5 Did work better. A new install did not fare well.

Debian 3.1 sarge looked promising, but neither ndiswrapper nor the broadcom driver work so far. Wireless card is a Linksys WPC600N. Compiling 2.6.32.2 did not go well either.

Sarge is an archived release, the following repositories work 01/2010

    http://archive.debian.org/debian-archive/debian/dists/sarge/
    http://debian.ethz.ch/debian-archive/dists/sarge/

x-window-system seems to be a meta-package to get X going.
